A new approach to the analysis of capacitor discharge unit (CDU) current-time traces is discussed. The method involves the formulation of a mathematical model based on physical considerations of the system. The major objective in the analysis of a CDU current trace is the calculation of inductance (L) and resistance (R) of the system
