
Exploring the {sup 18}F(p,{gamma}){sup 19}Ne gateway to the formation of heavy elements in hot stars

An upper limit to the production of {sup 19}Ne through the {sup 18}F(p,{gamma}) reaction at the recently discovered s-wave resonance has been determined. The limit implies that in a hot stellar environment (T{sub 9} > 0.5) this reaction is not a significant gateway from the hot CNO cycle towards the production of heavier elements in stars
