As a stand in for the Ac - Ra separation, an ion exchange technique was demonstrated for the separation of Ba and La. The volatilization of LaI/sub 3/ is described. Preliminary calculations are graphically presented for the radiometric analysis of Ac/sup 227/ (13.5 yr). (C.W.H.
