An inner iteration procedure in transport calculations that entails alternate cycles of simple diffusion and sn calculations is outlined. Simple diffusion theory in this way becomes numerically embedded in transport theory. A method for explicit solution (without iteration) of the diffusion equations is also sketched. (D.C.W.
