Procedures for the routine calibration of gamma-ray scintillation spectrometers and multichannel pulse-height analyzers are presented. A scintillation spectrometer, designed for use of recently developed computer data processing techniques, is described. The performance specifications required of all electronic components in this application, particularly the performance specifications for multi-channel pulse-height analyzers, are treated; and simple tests are described for determining the performance specifications of an analyzer.
