Utilization of low NO{sub x} coal combustion by-products. Quarterly report, October--December 1995

Accomplishments to date are described for the following tasks. Task 2, Laboratory characterization, involved sample collection, material characterization, and laboratory testing of ash processing operations. The paper describes settling tests, leaf filter tests, centrifuge tests, and hydrocyclone tests. No pilot plant tests (Task 3) were performed this quarter. Task 4, Product testing, involves concrete testing (effect of power plant ashes on concrete properties), concrete block/brick, plastic fillers, activated carbon, and metal matrix composites.
