During the post-irradiation examination of borides it was discovered that the samples which had been irradiated as powders had sintered into firmly bonded bodies. This radiation sintering occurred at temperatures hundreds of degrees below that required to produce similar interparticle bonding by the application of heat alone. , This report discusses the results of the postirradiation examination of some of these borides which were irradiated as powders and compares the results of our observations with the reports of simiiar radiation sintering occurring in other materials
