Restaurants are business ventures that are established within the food industry. The same challenges encountered by companies from other industries are also faced in the management of these gastronomic environments, which in turn influence their profitable capacity. From this empirical evidence, the main objective of this article is to analyze the most recurrent failures in the operations of these gastronomic units in the city of São Paulo, through the use of the film analysis of eight episodes of the series " Kitchen Nightmare", a show ́s Brazilian version presented by the Chef de Cuisine Erick Jacquin, broadcasted by Bandeirantes TV.
