Bernardo Ortiz de Montellano crossed a series of letters to three members of the Cuban avant-garde and one of his supporters. This correspondence is a set suggestive of the relations, interests and positions of the group of loneliness to which the author of Dreams belonged. This paper starts from the idea that letters of writers, while an extension of literary fiction, we can find a space testimonial able to confirm or remove what we had indeed, and the latter is precisely what we propose to revise 19 communications where we find evidence to review literary identity that has been built around the Contemporaneos group. This identity has already been examined by critics, but which should return whenever possible to identify other indications to approach what had been postponed
