Nur Mountains is one of important biological richness areas of Turkey because of both its geographical position on which it is located and its changing climatological and topographical conditions. It is important to monitor Nur Mountains consisting roughly half of plant types present at Turkey, and to understand ecological elements having an effect upon vegetation cover here. In this study, we sought an answer to the question that ‘‘what sort of effects do the exposure factor upon vegetation cover in the middle part of Nur Mountains?’’. By using vegetation index values, we investigated vegetation conditions belonging to east and west sides of it (at an east-west direction distance of 36 km) during a time period of 16-days in the middle part of Nur Mountains. Results show that the vegetation cover on the west side performed more photosynthetic activity during whole periods of the year compared to the east side. Our wish is that such a study has encouraged researches which question under which geographical conditions the vegetation cover has performed more photosynthetic activity. Besides that, the said studies would be able to comprise an important basis for government agencies and scientific environments doing researches on such as vegetation, forest etc.
