This article presents the findings of the digital skills level for educational purposes of university students at two Mexican regions. The digital skill is perceived as set of skills for ICT management. A survey was used organized into four dimensions: information management, communication, organization and portable technology. The instrument consisted of 30 items (Cronbach’s alpha of 0.94). The participants were 531; 357 belonged to the North region and 174 to the South region. The results show that the average level of digital skill was 3.23 (scale 0-4). Significant differences (p<0.05) were found between both groups in 18 out of 30 items. No significant relation was presented between the skill level and the grade point average. A fine level of digital skill is expected to improve the conditions for supporting the educational process of the student.
