In This study thirteen skin lighting creams are available in Libyan markets in Benghazi and Pharmaceutical Preparations were used to determine the content of hydroquinone by a rapid and simple UV spectrophotometric procedures. The labels on the packages noticeably did not show the content of hydroquinone. All samples were analysed by a UV spectrophotometer, Beer’s law was obeyed in the range of 1040 μg/ml at 290nm using 0.05M H2SO4 as solvent with linear regression coefficient of 0.9994.
