: The structure of filters which are space-time oriented is analyzed. Basically, this paper consists of two parts. The first presents the cascade of space-time DOG as an energy filter, discusses its general properties and show how to compute its energy. The second part discusses the consequences of applying the sampling theorem to uniformly translating patterns in the presence of motion uncertainty. It is shown that, for a given motion uncertainty, there exists a bound on the maximum sampling interval, such that for larger values aliasing will occur. Keywords: Dog filters; Machine Vision.
