Experimental local skin friction data were obtained for the strong interaction region of a sharp edged adiabatic flat plate model over the flow parameter ranges 5.5 < M4 < 6.0, 150 < Re x< 400, 9.8 < 7 < 13.0. These data, the results of the first trials of a complex experimental apparatus, yield local skin friction coefficients significantly below the predictions of strong interaction theory.
