The Number concept is introduced to define the G-Number and attack the problem of determining initial oil-in-place. A particular solution, corresponding to a given order of particular solution, corresponding to a given order of differentiation, is developed to provide suitable formulas for application. The method is then applied to the Haft Kel Field of Iran to illustrate its effectiveness. In conclusion, the potential application of the G-Number to the problem of oil-in-place is discussed, and the generality of the Number concept with respect to other scientific problems is mentioned.
