Drs. Overton and Denno have condensed in this book a large amount of useful information for the benefit of local health officers in the United States. It is somewhat startling to note that in some of the United States the health officer need not be a qualified medical man, while the authors deprecate the fact that these appointments are sometimes given laiway as political rewards. It is not surprising therefore that this book is written in simple language, and that the illustrations would make excellent lantern-slides for use in school.
