Clinical prediction models, also known as “prognostic models”, “risk scores”, or “prediction rules”, have received increasing attention in recent years (1,2). Clinical prediction models appear to be the next rising star in personalized medicine, just as systematic reviews and meta-analyses were in the era of evidence-based medicine.
