The introduction of minimally invasive video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) almost three decades ago has substantially changed the operative treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). For the first period of time, the main issue was technical feasibility and safety of VATS pulmonary resections, especially in case of lobectomy.
