Market transition in post-socialist societies is directly linked to the concept of values. Assumptions about pace of regional transition can be made from information about dynamics of values, shared by social subjects living in this area and give an instrument to predict pace of modernization. In the article the results of the survey of values shared among schoolchildren and students, conducted in Krasnoyarsk region of Central Siberia in 2016, are presented. The authors outline correlation of educational level, age and values, underline primal social meaning of the term «value» within the social groups under investigation, and define core values of these groups. Gender associations, social identification, and their economic impact are shown. A significant result of the analysis is that the value «family» is the most important for both groups of the respondents. Among students personal values and priorities significantly dominate social and community ones which is an important issue in policy-making for Central Siberia.
