The reproduction of population, its pace and dynamics have a significant impact on the labour market and migration in the North Caucasian Federal District. There is a strong need to implement practical steps to improve the situation on the labour market, reduce tensions in social and labour sphere, control and manage migration flows. The aim of the article is to examine the current trends and features of reproduction, as well as to determine demographic impact on the labour market and movement of workforce in the North Caucasian Federal District. The high rate of natural population growth, typical for the republics of North Caucasian Federal District, and low demand for labour at local the labour market are accounting for main reasons behind growing unemployment and high migration rates in the region. It is vital for successful development and implementation of migration policy in the region to address such issues as management and regulation of migration processes, constant labour-surplus in most areas of the North Caucasian Federal District, and optimization of the labour market.
