This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of students in grade VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Banjarmasin by applying the learning model of Children Learning in Science (CLIS). This type of research is a classroom action research consisting of 2 cycles and each cycle consist of 2 meetings. The subject of research is all students of class VIII C SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Banjarmasin which amounted to 20 people. The instrument of this research is the observation sheet of the implementation of RPP, student activity observation sheet, and test learning outcomes. Findings show that : (1) RPP cycle I of 67,15% with good category and cycle II of 70,56% with good category, (2) student activity on cycle I categorized quite active and in cycle II has increased become categorized active, (3) the result of student learning cycle I at 55,00% (not complete) and cycle II at 75,00% (complete). Based on the findings, the CLIS learning model can improve student learning outcomes and activities.
