This paper presents some possibilities to teach relief at the level of Junior High Schools, from the perspective of typical landforms. The landforms can be presented in different scales. Taking the relief of Belo Horizonte as example, we start from a local landform analysis to a regional one, hitting a more abstract level to understand the concept of relief. The proposal explores geomorphological concepts involving visual language by the use of oblique photographs for local scale, elevation terrain models and maps for regional scale, for teaching and learning of geomorphology
