The Personal Synthesis Programme (PSP) is a comprehensive programme of personal development that addresses universal areas of human life such as emotions, thinking, self-regulation, confi dence, coping, motivation, communication, relationships etc. Each of these areas is approached on theoretical, practical, refl ective and interpersonal levels. The aim of the programme is to increase the sense of control and self-direction in participants’ lives. The programme has been run with HIV+ participants for the last six years. It has consisted of weekly two-hour sessions throughout an academic year. PSP has been evaluated using a triangulation method.
