In this study, the concepts for safety and protection in applications of ionizing radiationare presented and the information is given to applications in our country.Radiation irradiation of human activities on interest and the need for applications that are based on three basic requirements is recommended in the system: Justification, Optimization and Dose Limits.According to these principles, no practice involving exposure to radiation should be adopted unless it produces at least sufficient benefit to the exposed individuals or to society to offset the radiation detriment it causes (Justification). In relation to any particular source of radiation within a practice, the dose to any individual from that source should be below an appropriate dose constraint, and all reasonable steps should be taken to adjust the protection so that exposures are as low as reasonably achievable, economic and social factors being taken into account (Optimization). A limit should be applied to the dose received by individual as the result of all the practices (except for medical diagnosis or treatment) to which he or she is exposed (Dose Limits)
