The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of Ascaris suum infections in pigs slaughtered in Denpasar abattoir. A total of 100 fecal samples obtained from pigs that slaughtered in Denpasar abattoir examined by flotation concentration method using NaCl. The results of the examination showed that 22 samples (22%) infected with Ascaris suum. All of Ascaris suum eggs that were identified were found from samples of pigs originating from Denpasar: 4 samples (17.39%); Badung: 1 sample (100%); Bangli; 8 samples (23.52%); Karangasem: 7 samples (30.43%); and Gianyar: 2 samples (20%). Based on the high prevalence of A. suum infections in pigs slaughtered in Denpasar abattoir and ascariasis are potential zoonotic parasite, it is advisable to improve public awareness of environmental health in abattoir.
