Guaranteeing the future of life on the planet is everyone’s task. Therefore, it is necessary to implement urgent measures that ensure sustainability. In this task, schools, as a space for citizen formation, play an important role. In Colombia, unlike in Germany, problems such as pollution and climate change have little relevance in primary education contents. To answer questions on what, when, and how to include environmental issues in school curricula, it is necessary to make a diagnosis that allows recognizing how schoolchildren are being trained in these issues, while providing bases for the development of pedagogical models aimed at understanding the effects on their immediate environment.
