microRNAs are a class of small, non-coding RNAs that regulate gene expression at the post-transcriptional level. By blocking the stability and translation of protein-coding mRNAs, microRNAs impact most biological systems in health and disease, including the development and the function of the immune system [1]. A recent study by Marcais et al. has added new insights how microRNAs guide critical decisions by T lymphocytes [2].
