BACKGROUND Unstable angina depends on the presence of one or more of the following three historical features1. Crescendo angina (more severe, prolonged or frequently) superimposed on a pre-existing relatively stable, exertion related angina pectoris. 2. Angina pectoris at rest as well as with exertion. 3. Angina pectoris of a new onset (usually within one month), which is brought on by minimal exertion.
