RESEARCHING LINES OF DESCENT REFLECTING TURKISH PROVERBS AT PART OF RELATIONSHIP OF LANGUAGE-CULTURE

Culture can be defined as a life style,material and moral value of a society and realizes oneself by way of language. The language of a society is the main component which reflects and forms culture of the society.For this reason, culture demonstrates itself especially in vocabulary.Vocabulary reflecting material and moral culture of individuals speaking a language, their relationships other societies, standard of judgements,priorities involves not only words of language but also a lot of phraseologies like slogans, idioms,terms and proverbs. In this regard,it is natural reflecting the culture of the society which is in vocabulary, involves experiments of the society about various issues and generates also proverbs embodying eloquence of that language. Affinity name isn’t only denotation form. That is a factor of language and culture categorising , defining relationships of individuals being an environment in which familiy ties is formed or families and relationships with other families. Lines of descents corresponding to a rich vocabulary in Turkish can be interpreted as a reflection cultural features of Turkish society. In this study; in Turkish vocabulary,it will be tried to identify proverbs involving affinity names and be categorised from various aspects; the proportion of lines of relationships redounding up language will be evaluated as part of relationship of language – culture. The examples which will be examined in this study, consist of proverbs involving affinity names in Proverbs Dictionary.
