Wildlife welfare as bioethical problem has been shallowly discussed in Colombia and the rest of the world, especially the welfare of wildlife species in captivity. This research was carried out with the aim of building conceptual referents based on Bioethics analysis of information sources directly related to welfare of wildlife in captivity, produce from Philosophy, Environmental Ethics, Physiology and Ethology. A relation analyzed thematic/guiding principles was pretended to be established from Bioethics rules, in order to construct animal welfare indicators with bioethical perspectives. Build this bioethical concept creates a space for debate where the human being recognizes and is aware of the responsibility it has on its actions. This awareness acquisition lets to reformulate many of their behavioral patterns, especially in the context of human/animal relationship, and more specifically human/wild animal, so that practices such as the possession of primates in captivity as pets turns into malpractices to be eliminated by the entire human community.
