This document is based on the concept of applied ethics as a new knowledge field, establishing some of the epistemological requirements of that new field and placing Bioethics within it; afterwards, presented in a brief manner, are the basic principles of the Critical Theory considered the most pertinent for the analysis of ethical conflicts and dilemmas, making some epistemic demands intending to show that the Critical Theory presents relevant content as much to support the analysis of conflicts and ethical dilemmas, as to provide a foundation for the decision making process and formulation of standards, and emphasizes that decision making in bioethics must account for three natures: objective, social and subjective.
