A new Bachelor of Science degree program in Manufacturing Engineering at Washington State University branch campus in Vancouver is described. We discuss industrial participation in curriculum and program development, and review cooperation with community colleges. A planned center for research in semiconductor manufacturing is introduced, and some of the lessons we have learned in starting the new program are discussed. Suggested metrics for outcomes assessments are described.
