Richard E. Groff received B.S. degrees from the Pennsylvania State University, State College, PA, in engineering science and mechanics and German in 1996, and received the M.S. and Ph.D. from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan, in electrical engineering and computer science in 1998 and 2003, respectively. He is currently an Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Clemson University in Clemson, SC. Previously he was a postdoctoral fellow at University of California, Berkeley. His research interests are in the area of controls and robotics with a focus on biomedical applications. Prof. Groff is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the ASME, and American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE).
