Dr. Wierman is a Professor of Applied Mathematics and Statistics in the Whiting School of Engineering. From 1988 to 2000, he served as Department Chair. He conducts multidisciplinary research, and publishes professional articles in probability, statistics, discrete mathematics, physics, computer science, molecular biology, and entrepreneurship journals. He received his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in mathematics from the University of Washington.
