<b>A Região Centro-Oeste no Contexto da “Modernização” do Sertão</b>

Busca-se atraves de uma analise historia da regiao Centro-Oeste, tendo como objeto de estudo a instituicao SUDECO, compreender como se deu a “modernizacao” economica, politica e social da regiao, a qual percebemos como “sertao”, no contexto nacional. Atraves de fontes primarias documentais da SUDECO, encontradas no Arquivo Nacional de Brasilia, poderemos obter dados referentes a “modernizacao” do “sertao” brasileiro. Inicialmente faremos uma abordagem teorica com relacao ao termo “sertao”, o que percebemos como de fundamental importância para a discursao. The Midwest Region in the Context of the “Modernization” of the Hinterland It is searched, through an historic analysis of the west-center region, having as study object the SUDECO institution, to comprehend how occurred the economic, politic and social “modernization” in this region, where we perceive as a “hinterland”, in the national context. Through documentary primary sources of SUDECO, funded in the Brasilia National Archive, we can get referring information to Brazilian hinterland “modernization”. Initially we will do a theory boarding referring to the word “sertao” (hinterland), the we consider of fundamental importance to this discussion.
