DETERMINATION OF PEOPLE'S ASPECTS ABOUT HOBBY GARDENS IN ERZURUM CITY

In Erzurum city, increased urbanization actions have increased requirements of people to the recreational areas. Hobby gardens are important for reorganizations of relations of people with nature, economical contribution, bringing green spaces to cities. In this study, necessity and trend of people for hobby garden were determined by questionnaire, and results were evaluated by chi-square (x2) test. It was established that 66% of people which join to questionnaire had any idea about the hobby garden before. 85% of some people said that hobby gardens are required in Erzurum after they are enlightened about the hobby gardens. In directions of personal requests of these people, it was concluded that hobby garden was preferred, which is near to city and organized with recreational under and upper structure materials and tube produced vegetables and fruit in these gardens.
