The harmful effects of climate change have caused a huge concern worldwide about the future of planet Earth; some governments have reacted to this problem, for every kind of life is being affected, in which human existence is listed. Such a global situation is the result mostly of the economic activity of industrialized countries, and of whom entrepreneurs, and businesspeople in general, are becoming increasingly aware. Therefore, this document attempts to describe and analyze the carbon credits (often called carbon offsets) through some criteria, which were laid down under the Kyoto Protocol linked to the United Nations Framework on Clime Change (UNFCCC), in which they quantify the commitments to climate action, that is, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions gotten by all the countries listed in appendix I. The interpretation of the official documents, investigations and critical publications, regarding the carbon markets and the emission certificates, allows us to identify developing markets which manage a huge amount of economic resources, and whose aim to contribute to the effective decreasing of those factors that provoke climate change is a matter of study and analysis.
