CRP is the mostly used acute phase reactant in clinical practice. Infections, major traumas, inflammatory disease and most of malignancies are associated with high serum CRP concentration. Therefore, measurement of serum CRP level is a non-specific response to disease and it can not be used as a diagnostic test. However, if the CRP is interpreted in the light of full clinical evaluation, it can provide useful information for diagnose and follow-up.
