The article is devoted to the influence of a masterpiece on the creative persons emotional perception and the role of this phe nomenon on the artists formation. The author analyses the relationship between the force of aesthetical experience and the filmmakers artistic style as well as the significance of this event in the context of the filmmakers work. The analysis is based on the authors personal conversations with outstanding Russian directors.
