Social activity is one of the systemic factors describing a person from the perspective of their value for others and society as a whole. By means of social activity, people reveal their views of life and actualize their desire to make a contribution to the society’s development and to implement their own capabilities. Social activity does not arise spontaneously, but is born together with social reactivity, and they exist side by side. Social reactivity, in its turn, is rather focused on the current situation and the motivation present. Our article shows that both social activity and reactivity can exist at various levels: normative, normative-personal, personal-productive or productive-creative. Proactiveness and duty performance are the units of analyzing social activity. We have examined the qualitative and quantitative indicators of the social proactivity: its motivational component, the quality and social value of the initiative, its direction, certainty / uncertainty, accepting responsibility for the initiative, its viability, frequency and level. Duty performance can be assessed according to the following parameters: acceptance of goal or objective, order and accuracy of executing a task, choosing adequate methods, viability of the outcome, intensity, efficiency and level of performance. Control over the shaping of social activity is a crucial and most complex issue in contemporary scholarship. We sketch several possible solutions, such as implementing reflexive management of social activity of a person, or the use of problem cases in the course of shaping social activity.
