Bu calismada; Estas dokum fabrikasinda kullanilan yeni dokum kumlarinin kalitesinin artirilmasi icin dokum kumunun yas mukavemet, gaz gecirgenligi ve kesme mukavemetini etkileyen parametreler incelenmistir. Bu parametreler % nem orani (X 1 ), % komur tozu (X 2 ), % aktif bentonit (X 3 ) ve % yeni kum miktari (X 4 ) olarak secilmistir. Optimizasyon calismalarinda karisim tasarim (KT) yontemi kullanilmistir. Yapilan calismalar sonucunda yeni kum kullanilarak hazirlanan dokum kumunun optimum kompozisyonu X 1 (%3,50), X 2 (%6,00), X 3 (%6,66), X 4 (%83,08) olarak belirlenmistir. Bu optimum kompozisyonda hazirlanan kumun basma mukavemeti (Y 1 ) 12,7 N/cm 2 , kesme mukavemeti (Y 2 ) 4,0 N/cm 2 ve gaz gecirgenligi (Y 3 ) 66 mmWS olarak olculmustur.
