The article reviews the first results of application of professional standards of the sphere of social service in the regions of the Russian Federation in accordance with legal requirements: “Psychologist in the social sphere”, “Head of the institution of medical and social expertise”, “Head of the social service organization”, “Social worker”, “Specialist of the guardianship agency for minors”, “Specialist in medical and social expertise”, “Specialist in the provision of public services in the employment of the population sphere”, “Family work specialist”, “Specialist in rehabilitation work in the social sphere”, “Social work specialist”, “Touch sign language interpreter”. A generalized experience of application of professional standards in social service organizations is presented on the basis of monitoring results organized by the Federal State Budgetary Institution "All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Labor" of the Ministry of Labor of Russia. The main problems of application of professional standards and ways of their solution are discussed.
