The article examines the language of political science of Ancient Rome, the stages of its formation. The authors rely on the texts of ancient Roman authors. The history of the development of the language of political teachings in Ancient Rome was originally a collection of words, expressions, concepts, largely drawn from various kinds of mythological plots. And already by the I century BC, it acquires terminological order and, as a result, appears as an indispensable means of describing and analyzing political phenomena, considering and cognizing them in a variety of aspects. Roman political science, in its movement along the path of cognition of politics as one of the most significant creative phenomena, initially started in its search from the problems identified by the Greek philosophers, using the conceptual and categorical apparatus and terminology developed by them, achieved impressive results.
