Perceptual trust and accuracy evaluation of the personal characteristics in various conditions of perception

This article presents the results of the study of perceptual trust and the accuracy of the assessment of psychological characteristics of the person in various conditions of perception. The study involved 96 people. As the conditions of perception were made by the following parameters: a video interview with the voice, video interviews without a voice, photographic image of a person and audio recording of the interview. In the study of psychological characteristics of the person used a variety of scales, components of perceptual trust and two methods: “Personal differential” and a “16-factor personality Express-questionnaire R.B. Cattell”. The results of the empirical research established that the perceptual rating of perceptual trust and psychological characteristics of the person varies depending on the perceptual conditions. Demonstration video with voice or without voice is more trustworthy than demonstrating images of face or listening audio recordings of interviews. Evaluation of perceptual trust in photographic images of face and voice did not differ from each other. The greatest number of accuracy assessments of psychological characteristics obtained in the condition of perception of a video interview without voice and audio interviews, the fewest in the photographic image of the face.
