In our country, which is a country of agriculture, there is a necessity to form necessary contemporary institutions in order to support and complement each other in all stages from production to consumption in order that our product markets, like the European Union and developed countries, can be brought to a solid and dynamic structure. Licensed warehouse system is, in this sense, an important institutional infrastructure that facilitates trade based on agricultural products, enlarges the market area, contributes to the development of product markets and price stability in these markets, and facilitates the industrialists to supply the raw material they need for production. This study aims to provide detailed information about the licensed warehouse system, licensed warehouse system applications in the world and Turkey, and information on the legislation and the state incentives provided by the licensed warehouse system in Turkey.
