Kırşehir hosted the civilizations such as Phrygian, Persian, Hellenistic, and Romans in Iron Age. Although there is no monumental Phrygian architectural works in Kırşehir and its vicinity, numerous small settlements of this age, Phrygian pottery and metal works made with advanced craftsmanship have been found during the excavations and surface surveys in the area. After a while, the Kimmer communities suppressed the Phrygian activities and then the land come under domination of Persians. In this period, Kırşehir became a gateway to the west of the land called Cappadocia, one of the few significant regions in Anatolia. Kırşehir, which had made its marks in the Hellenistic period, became popular again in the Roman period. The study, which aims to discuss the political history of Kırşehir and its vicinity in the Iron Age, will examine the dominance and historical heritage of the civilizations ruling in the region in this period in detail.
