Social media has become an important means of communication and source of information for both individuals and institutions due to the influence of developing information technologies and social networks nowadays. The use of social media for the introduction to the health services and healthcare communication, and knowing the effect of news, information and sharing at the social media channels on preference in choosing doctors and hospitals have become important gradually. In this research; use of social media status on preference in choosing doctors and hospitals was examined. A survey was conducted with 500 people between February 2016 and June 2016 via social media channels. It is found out as a result of this research that effect of use of social media on the selection of hospital was 59.8% and effect of use of social media on the selection of doctor was 64.4%. According to the obtained results, it was observed that individuals who paid attention to the social media introductions and sharing prior to the selection of hospital and doctor were also found to be more likely to share the information regarding their levels of satisfaction at the social media after receiving healthcare services.
