OZET Amac: Istanbul Universitesi (IU) Fizyoterapi ve Rehabilitasyon Bolumu’nun mevcut iyi halini korumak ve daha ileriye tasimak amaciyla bir SWOT analizi yapmak ve sayilari hizla artan Fizyoterapi ve Rehabilitasyon bolumlerinin, kurumumuzu nasil etkiledigini akademisyenlerin ve ogrencilerin gozunden arastirmaktir. Gerec ve Yontem: Calismaya IU Fizyoterapi ve Rehabilitasyon lisans programinda ogrenim goren gonullu 80 lisans ogren-cisi ve egitim veren 10 ogretim uyesi dâhil edildi. Bolumun guclu yanlari, zayif yanlari, firsatlari ve tehditleri hazirlanan acik uclu anket formu ile degerlendirildi. Yanitlar ‘Icerik Analizi Yontemi’ ile analiz edildi. Bulgular: IU Fizyoterapi ve Rehabilitasyon Bolumu’nun guclu yonunu; ogretim uyelerinin %90’i “Yuksek lisans ve doktora programlarinin olmasi” olarak gorurken lisans ogrencilerinin %68.7’si “Akademisyenlerin fizyoterapistlerden olusmasi, klinik tecrubelerinin fazla olmasi ve alanlarinda uzman olmalari nedeniyle zengin bir akademik kadroya sahip olmasi” olarak gormekteydi. Zayif yonler icin; ogretim uyelerinin %80’i “Tip fakultesinden ayri bir kam-puste egitim veriyor olmanin sikintilari” oldugunu belirtirken lisans ogrencileri zayif yon olarak %56.2’si “Ders-liklerin, amfinin ve bina kosullarinin artan ogrenci sayisini karsilayamamasi” oldugunu soyledi. Firsatlar icin; ogretim uyelerinin %90’i “Farkli disiplinlerle bir arada egitim alma imkânina sahip olunmasi” seklinde belirtirken lisans ogrencilerinin %38,7’si “IU’nun koklu bir universite olmasi ve egitim alaninda bir marka haline gelmis olmasi nedeniyle is yasaminda iyi bir referans olmasi” oldugunu belirtti. Olasi tehditler icin; ogretim uyelerinin %90’i “Mesleki haklarin yetersizligi” seklinde belirtirken lisans ogrencilerinin %51.2’si “Okullardaki kontenjan-larin artmasiyla dusuk puanlarla ogrenci alinmasi sonucu niteliksiz fizyoterapistlerin mezun olmasi” oldugunu bildirdi. Sonuc: Goze carpan guclu yonleri koruyarak ve firsatlari degerlendirerek bu ozelliklerin on plana cikmasi saglanmalidir. Ayrica zayif yonler ve tehditler goz onune alinarak belirlenecek dogru stratejilerle, IU Fizyoterapi ve Rehabilitasyon Bolumu her yonuyle tercih edilen bir kurum haline getirilmelidir. Anahtar Kelimeler: Egitim; Fizyoterapi ve Rehabilitasyon; SWOT Analizi ABSTRACT Purpose: The aim of study was to made SWOT analyze for maintain the current well-being of Istanbul University (IU) Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Division and even move forward and was to evaluate how the increased number of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation schools affected on our institute in the eye of academicians and students. Methods: 80 volunteer undergraduates and 10 academicians were included. Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of division were evaluated by open-ended questions. Content analysis was used to analyze the responses derived from open-ended questions. Results: 90% of the academicians saw “Having master's and doctoral programs” as strongest feature while 68,7% of undergraduates thought “Having rich aca-demic squad consist of physiotherapists who were experts in their field”. Weaknesses were; 80% of the academi-cians said “The struggle of giving education in the campus that is separated from Medical School” while %56,2 of the undergraduates thought “Classrooms, amphitheaters and building conditions do not meet the demand. Op-portunities were; 90% of the academicians thought “Having the opportunity to be educated with different discip-lines” while 38,7% of the undergraduates thought “IU is well-established university in the field of education and a brand for business”. Potential threats were; 90% of the academicians said “Lack of professional rights” while 51,2% of the undergraduates thought “Due to increasing quota in schools, students who came to the program have the lowest exam score and they graduate as an unqualified physical therapists”. Conclusion:Prominence features should be ensured by retaining the outstanding opportunities and evaluating strengths. Considering the weaknesses and threats correct strategies should be determined so IU Division of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation becomes preferable institution in every aspect.
