This study aims to conduct a literature review on the relationship between social skills and mental health of college students, in order to highlight the importance of training skills and social skills for academic adaptation and mental well-being. The research was produced through bibliographic research from books, dissertations, tests and digital platforms between 2008-2019 for the scientific basis of the theme. The results show that men have a better development in terms of self-exposure to strangers. Students who have a repertoire based on flexible interactions, socially skilled behaviors, have decreased anxiety.
