Smoking impairs almost all of systems of the human body. Coronary heart disease, stroke, atherosclerosis, pulmonary diseases and a large number of cancer related with smoking. By affecting oral tissues various precancerous and cancerous lesions are caused by cigarette in mouth and pharynx. Cigarette affects oral tissues, post operative wound healing of extraction of tooth, dental implant, maxillofacial and periodontal surgery. In this study the effects of smoking, on the healing of tissues after surgical procedures performed in the mouth will be discussed
